Pan African Congress on Autism 2019

Pan Africa

This past April, representatives from Junior’s Place of Hope (JPOH)  were invited to attend the Pan-African Congress on Autism in Nairobi, Kenya.  The conference took place from April 25th to April 27th.  As Vice President, I was looking forward to learning more about new research in the field and to presenting the stellar work that JPOH is doing.

PACA-2018

These goals were accomplished, and more! It was invigorating to meet other passionate parents, doctors, nurses, psychologists, and people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),  All of us are working towards the same goal – destigmatize autism and increase awareness of local efforts to address the needs of people living with ASD.  Bring on next year’s conference!

Junior's Place of Hope was started by Henrietta Bassey. She is a devoted mother to her 27 year old son who has autism. She has done everything in her power to help create an environment that will accept her son and others who have autism and other special needs. They deserve to live in a society that treats them with respect and dignity.
